Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche, a perfume of timeless excellence

Drakkar Noir is a fragrance for men by Guy Laroche created by perfumer Pierre Wargnye. It was introduced in 1982 and was very successful. Moreover, it won the FiFi Award 1985 in the Men’s Fragrance of the Year – Luxe category. In addition, its smell seems totally timeless and universal. Fashion and trends have no impact on this most virile fragrance. As proof, in 2010 he won the Canadian Perfume Award in the Hall of Fame Award – men category. There is no doubt that Drakkar Noir is indeed an exceptional perfume.

Drakkar Noir, seduction for men

Drakkar Noir is a particularly seductive fragrance. It follows an essence from the same range, published ten years earlier and simply called Drakkar. He was intended as much a man of action as he was a gentleman embodying quiet strength. This time, Drakkar Noir pushes his manly side to the extreme. Nevertheless, it is no less tender and delicate. Drakkar definitely has it all. It embodies serene masculinity and self-confidence. He is a fairly confident charmer and in full possession of his means. Finally, he plays the adventurer and big tough but he hides deep inside him a heart as melting as chocolate. And yes ladies, we see you from here salivating in front of your PC … Rest assured, you are not the only one to succumb to its charms. This man is a predator multiplying the conquests. To be completely honest, he’s even a bit arrogant. Either way, it is unique and desirable and its scent is called Drakkar Noir.

A reference from Guy Laroche

As soon as it was released, Drakkar Noir has become a benchmark in men’s perfumery.. This aromatic fern plays on power. From its beginnings, its scent is explosive and combines lemon, verbena and spearmint. Then, its heart is more aromatic. It combines basil, rosemary and especially lavender. This last ingredient gives it great freshness as well as an undeniable part of strength. The whole is enhanced by a herbal and spicy accord based on juniper berry, coriander, angelica and wormwood. Then, its wake turns towards a more woody structure typical of masculine essences. Its virility draws its source from cedar wood, patchouli, fir balsam and oak moss. The bottle, meanwhile, is reminiscent of a black pebble polished by the sea. Here again, the force of the elements is felt. Its touch is silky and its curves are sensual. They are in opposition to the harshness of its very black hue. What is more, it is the very first perfume for men to dare an entirely black and opaque bottle. Definitely, this gentleman is not lacking in daring!
