The One For Men follows the women’s version of The One , a cult product from Dolce & Gabbana. This scent is sensual and sophisticated. It is addressed to a “cosmopolitan man, who takes care of himself and his body”. Its smell is at the same time oriental, woody and spicy. It is subtle and warm and its sweetness is slightly flowery and fruity. What is more, its aspect evolving towards an amber tobacco structure gives it an air of modern hedonist, borrowing a great sophistication.

This man is embodied by Matthew McConaughey, counterpart of Scarlett Johansson as the muse of the female version of the essence. These two lovers are beautiful, sexy, and represent a perfect couple despite their age difference. The all-black and white advertising campaign is played to a haunting Italian song, “Il cielo in una stanza” by Mina. Italy and its Dolce Vita are transposed into New York’s alleys and the film is signed by Martin Scorsese. The result is then like the perfume: extremely elegant.
Dolce & Gabbana draws its refinement from woody scents
The One is a fragrance essentially built on a woody accord. However, it is revisited and modernized by adding oriental touches. Also, its top notes are bursting with freshness. The essence starts with the combination of grapefruit, coriander and basil. Then the fragrance develops a suave orange blossom marked by the spicy notes of ginger and cardamom. Finally, it is in its background that The One for Men draws all its strengthwoody. The blend of cedarwood, sandalwood and tobacco is enhanced with amber and musk.
