Granada Salvia, Guerlain’s new Aqua Allegoria takes us to Andalusia

At the head of Guerlain , several generations of perfumers have succeeded one another: Jean-Paul Guerlain, Jacques Guerlain, Aimé Guerlain, Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain, and now Thierry Wasser … Each of them has brought to the brand his personal touch, everything by contributing greatly to shaping perfumery as we know it today. However, even if the essences of Guerlain have greatly evolved, the brand never forgets its origins. It is therefore to plunge us back into history that the range of Aqua Allegoria was designed. Evocative of the Eaux de Cologne of yesteryear, it brings together exceptional, very refreshing juices. Today, this collection is still growing. The year 2020 is placed under the sign of Andalusia. Focus on the new Granada Salvia.

Granada Salvia, a walk in the heart of an Andalusian garden

The name of this new fragrance says a lot about its Mediterranean and Spanish connotation. Indeed, as he suggests, Guerlain here chooses to immerse us in the heart of a Spanish garden, more exactly located in Andalusia, in the city of Granada. To evoke this south-eastern part of Spain, the Guerlain house has structured all its fragrance around pomegranate and orange. The Andalusian garden designed by Guerlain is particularly sunny and warm. Pomegranate makes our mouth water here, while other fruits make the whole more tangy. Blackcurrant mixes with lemon and bergamot, for a very refreshing finish. Sage also twists the whole thing. Finally, for more persistence and character, Guerlain incorporates in its base an accord of cypress, oak moss and patchouli.

The return of Guerlain’s iconic Bee Flask

Like all the perfumes in the Aqua Allegoria collection, Granada Salvia is presented in a modern reinterpretation of the mythical Bee Bottle. Indeed, since 1853, this bottle is known throughout the world, as being the container of one of the most beautiful perfumes, intended for the Empress Eugenie: the Eau de Cologne Impériale. Here, its finely chiseled dome has been preserved. Golden in color, and topped with a gold ball, it plays with light, through its emblematic pattern in the shape of a honeycomb. The whole is made of a thick glass cylinder, totally transparent, revealing all the femininity of a soft pink juice. Only a white label breaks with this feminine color, with its clean white tone.

Focus on the Aqua Allegoria collection

As you can see, the new Granada Salvia from Guerlain complements an already existing collection: the Aqua Allegoria collection. Like all its predecessors, this fragrance evokes the image of a garden specific to a region of the globe. Indeed, all Aqua Allegoria are luminous interpretations of a specific area of the planet. They have the gift of transporting us in a snap of the fingers, on a unique and very exotic journey. Possessing all the freshness of the Eau de Cologne of yesteryear, the Aqua Allegoria are unique olfactory journeys, escapades on beautiful summer days.
